Register Today for Our Friends of the Fund Event!
For 30 years, Community First Fund has paired our peer lending and small business loans with one-on-one business and financial technical assistance, ensuring entrepreneurs have the information they need to create a business plan or help build their credit. An important component of these services is our Affinity Group Lending (AGL) Program. Working predominately with recent immigrants, we create lending circles, which help entrepreneurs access capital and build their credit in the United States.
You are invited to join us May 10th, for our Inaugural Friends of the Fund Event, where we will celebrate the accomplishments of clients such as Musa Barry. Musa or "Uncle Musa" as he is affectionately known in the community is an immigrant from Liberia and a prominent voice in Philadelphia's Woodland business district and a participant in and now and advocate for our AGL program.
As an immigrant businessman, Musa realized that managing and growing a business in America was very different compared to Liberia, citing that the "American Way" of doing business was challenging for anyone to learn and understand, let alone an immigrant entrepreneur. After being denied financing from a traditional bank, Musa was referred to our AGL program. Since his initial participation, Musa has received five additional loans and is currently working on a loan to open two more business locations!
In addition to networking with clients, staff and other stakeholders we are excited to celebrate 30 years of Impact through Access to Capital!
