Dear Members, Neighbors, and Friends,

Stop The Violence

This past month we had the honor and pleasure of celebrating DEBCC member, Dr. Jay Macklin on her 20th anniversary of Stop The Violence Coalition. The DEBCC along with Stop The Violence Coalition, advocate for the financial literacy needs of our many partner groups to better educate and prevent violent crimes.

Strategic Planning

This month saw our “socially distanced and hybrid virtual” Strategic Planning Board Retreat at Celebrations On Market. (Thanks to DEBCC member and host Chef Tony!) Advisory Board Members and Consultants, Patrick McDevitt and Carl Colantuono lead an engaging discussion through Political, Economic, Social, and Technology factors surrounding our business landscape, as well as analysis and planning on developing and serving our members and business community. Strategic planning is essential for any business, as it charts the course for success!

The Black Franchise Experience

This past month the DEBCC partnered with WSFS Bank and the International Franchise Association for a panel discussion on Franchise Financing, Franchise Ownership Experience (New and Multi-unit ownership perspective), and Franchise Recruitment. Eric Ames, a franchising guru, represented DEBCC as a minority owned multi-unit franchise business owner and provided his unique and insightful perspectives. There are so many business opportunities and incentives for minorities in franchising that are worth exploring for a business startup.
