From the President's Office

Dear Members, Neighbors, and Friends,

Happy Anniversary!

September is a banner month for all of us, as we celebrate our one-year anniversary in serving the business community, and serving you, are valued members.

As we celebrate, we also take the time to pause and reflect on our progress, and importantly, extend our heartfelt thanks to our advisory board, our community partners, the Delaware business community, our State legislators, and our community of members, who have made the past year happen, and have supported us along our way.

Our world continues to change, however, our mission remains the same. Our resolve to our commitment to serving Delaware’s minority business community, advancing Delaware’s economic footprint, and delivering support, programs, and value for you - our valued members, remains stronger than ever. You are always at the heart and soul of everything we do, and you are the reason we are here.

We hope that you are able to join us at our (SOLD OUT) First Anniversary Celebration and Fundraiser on September 17th, and we look forward to seeing each of you there.

Again - we thank you for your continued support. Together, we are stronger!

Sincerely,
Ayanna Khan
Founder, President & CEO

DEBCC Celebrates National Black Business Month with Governor Carney

We spent a terrific day in downtown Dover with Delaware Governor John Carney and his staff visiting black owned businesses in celebration of National Black Business Month.

Additionally, Governor Carney also gave each business a proclamation to officially recognize August as National Black Business Month in the State of Delaware.

We appreciate the continued support that Governor Carney and his team provides to our entire business community!

DEBCC Members Host Back 2 School Events

DEBCC member Elite Feet held a “Back 2 School” event in Middletown. The August 29th event was a huge success, and provides our returning students much needed supplies to start the school year ready to learn!

DEBCC member Sweets & Treats held a Supply & Backpack Drive in Dover, supplying many students and families with backpacks, school supplies and other necessities to hit the ground running on the first day of school.

We appreciate all of our members and community partners who give back and invest their time, talent, and treasure to ensure a brighter future for all of our young Delawareans.
